I've always had an active lifestyle, Regardless of where you are in life or how old you are, trying new things is a way of reimagining who you are. I snowboard. I hike. And this past summer, I decided to learn how to skateboard. Stop holding yourself back by fear. Take that risk that you've been thinking about.
This summer, I purchased a GoPro to give an inside look at what I do. It's been such an incredible creative journey to create content in a way that feels authentic to who I am and how I experience things.
I love taking risks. I see it as a way to challenge myself in new ways. To open my eyes to new experiences and I love encouraging others to take that next step.
Let's be real...I work a 9 to 5 job and when the weekend roles around, I typically try to have something lined up. Whether that's hiking, snowboarding or learning how to skateboard. I'm ready to make the most of my weekend time.
I grew up skiing and then switched to snowboarding after university. I lived in Whistler for a season so I could snowboard every day. My most memorable moment was heading to 7th Heaven after a fresh dump of snow and gliding down making fresh tracks. Everything felt still. Quiet. With my music turned off, all I could hear was my board carving in the snow.
What's great about hiking is that it's a year round activity. When summer arrives, you've got the warm temps and fun trails on your side. In the winter, you can snowshoe and drink copious amounts of hot chocolate.
I've always wanted to skateboard and after living at Venice Beach and biking past the skate park every day, I decided that it was my turn to give it a try. I'm a beginner. And that's ok. We all start at zero and I wanted to document my journey.
